Our client’s kitchen is quite large. And this gives a lot of opportunities when it comes to designing custom furniture. It is a room with an open structure, and the kitchen space itself flows smoothly into the rest of the floor. The floor is covered with panels of a pleasant natural wood color. It’s also a room full of brightness, thanks to several windows and a transparent exit door to the terrace. It’s bright during the day, while in the evening and at night the light is provided by LEDs on the ceiling and hanging lamps.
A large room, with snow-white walls, topped by a bright one with a warm base – we thought a black and white kitchen would work perfectly here. The kitchen does not need to be optically enlarged, and the large presence of black color will not make it dark and gloomy. On the contrary – such a combination of colors gives the kitchen character.
Our customized kitchen has a corner character. Two wings of furniture cover almost the entire length of two walls.
One of the walls consists of numerous cabinets and shelves. Built into the row of cabinets are an oven and a refrigerator. Then a row of numerous drawers covered with a white marble top. The other wing is a row of lower cabinets, covered with a white countertop. Along the way is a sink and a very discreetly incorporated dishwasher. At first glance, you can’t see it at all. Of the kitchen equipment, there is something else there, but about that in a moment.
The fronts of all cabinets and drawers are black, and the marble countertop is responsible for the white. This one is covered with an irregular stone pattern. All the handles are brushed gold, as is the faucet in the black granite sink, suspended under the countertop. There are a lot of handles, making them a distinct and very elegant color accent. They also blend well with the warm shade of the floorboards.
The built-in high cabinets are finished with a decorative crown moulding, lacquered to match the color of the fronts.
In the center of the room is a rather large kitchen island, measuring 240 x 120 cm. Also black, with additional drawers and covered with the same white marble top. The kitchen island is where hot meals are cooked, as this is where we installed the induction stove. Thus, the principle of the kitchen triangle is preserved – at equal distances from each other are the areas, cooking, food storage and dishwashing.
Elegant and modern, yet still classic
Visually, the kitchen looks very elegant. The style is clearly modern, but not futuristic – somewhat conservative. The two dominant colors with a touch of gold do not overwhelm. Elegance also lies in the unobtrusive arrangement, which stylistically refers to the classics. Despite the deep black and sizable space, it is very cozy in the kitchen. Very well lit. During the day, the place is full of sunshine, while in the evenings and at night in the calm light of lamps, or even LEDs alone to make it even more atmospheric.
The quality is also evidenced by the materials used to create the kitchen furniture:
cabinet bodies – black Swiss Krono furniture board, in Velvet (VL) structure, smooth, matte, not leaving fingerprints,
MDF fronts – we used our original front design – ZONA. Fronts are lacquered on both sides in RAL 9004 matte black color,
visible sides and plinths – MDF lacquered on both sides in RAL 9004 matte black color,
countertops made of Quartz Conglomerate 2 cm thick, Technistone – Crystal Calacatta Silva,
drawer slides – MerivoBox Blum in anthracite color with silent closing,
Blum hinges and lifters, also with silent closing.
